Cyclists in Doncaster are being ured to get out on their bikes this autumn.

British Cycling has created a special series of autumn challenge rides in Doncaster this November – now open for free booking.

As part of British Cycling and Sky’s popular Sky Ride Local programme in partnership with Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, the rides will be guided by British Cycling Ride Leaders. The rides are all about getting the best out of your riding - perfect for getting out on your bike and warming up on a fresh autumn morning!

As ‘challenging’ rides you can expect distances of twenty miles and above, usually with some hills thrown in along the way. You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins to take part, but you’ll need to be fairly fit.

Stephen Peters British Cycling’s Recreation Manager for South Yorkshire said that the autumn series of rides would pose a challenge to those looking for a longer, yet supported, guided ride:

“The new autumn series brings with it all of the benefits of guided rides, with friendly and supportive Ride Leaders. It’s great to offer the chance to continue riding as the fresher mornings approach, and we know the people of Doncaster love to ride their bikes!”

Upcoming Autumn Series rides in Doncaster:

Sunday 16 November at 10.00am – ride distance 31 miles, start point Adwick Leisure Centre.

Sunday 30 November at 10.00am – ride distance 31 miles, start point Adwick Leisure Centre.

Registration is free and all information on these, or any other Sky Ride Local, Breeze and Ride Social rides, can be found at goskyride.com/Doncaster.
