RESIDENTS who get on their bikes in Bradfield are receiving discounts at local businesses as part of a scheme designed to encourage people to take to two wheels.
The I Bike Bradfield initiative sees shops, cafes and a pub offer the price incentives to people who have taken part in the cycling training run by Pedal Ready.
The project, funded by the Pedal Peak District scheme aims to encourage residents to take up cycling in 2011.
Businesses involved include Our Cow Molly, Sage Cycles in Stocksbridge, Rhinegold Garden Centre Café, the Postcard Café, the Robin Hood pub at Stannington and Bradfield Farmers Market Café.
Pupils at Bradfield Dungworth and Loxley primary schools have already received their I Bike Bradfield cards following their cycle training.
