MORE than 200 fruit or nut trees will be planted across Sheffield.

The Mini Orchards Project is working with city community groups and schools on the scheme - which aims to give people access to locally- grown fruit and train them to produce their food.

Organiser Grow Sheffield is looking for local people to help plant the trees across the city this month.

Daniele Rinaudo, Abundance project leader, said: “We already do lots of harvesting and processing of fruit but the ethos of Abundance means that we also want to create a greater resource for the people of Sheffield.”
