FEARS have been raised over possible noise nuisance after plans were submitted to extend the operating hours of an electricity generator.
The planning application involves the generator on land adjacent to a sub station in Loicher Lane, Ecclesfield.
Sheffield Council is considering varying the conditions of the original planning permission to allow the generator to run for more than six hours in any 24 hour period.
Ecclesfield Parish Council’s planning committee heard the generator is for occasional use when there is a need for more power.
But committee members said they were concerned about possible noise nuisance and have asked Sheffield Council planning officers for more information about the proposal.
