ARTIST Joe Scarborough handed over keys to a new taxi with livery designed to promote a Sheffield family information service.
The taxi has logos and livery highlighting the Ask Sid service provided by Sheffield Information Link.
Ask Sid is the Sheffield online information directory for the children’s, young people’s and family services in Sheffield.
It has extensive information on school holiday activities and events, childminders and childcare, family support, disability and special needs advice, schools and education, work and volunteering and places to go, as well as sports and leisure clubs.
The website is used by hundreds of young people, families and professionals as part of SIL’s wider services.
“We want to make even more people aware of the great information resource that is the Ask Sid website. Having the taxi driving around the city will help us with that aim,” said chief executive Sharron Baroudi.
Iftikar Ahmed, of Nether Edge, owner of the new taxi, said it was already turning heads.
“I have already had people stopping me to ask about Ask Sid and what it’s all about,” said Mr Ahmed.
SIL has been providing information for nearly 25 years, responding to 15,000 requests a year.
