RESIDENTS have complained about temporary closures of garages on a Sheffield housing estate.
The garages on Washington Road are being shut for 13 weeks while work takes place to reclad flats and maisonettes on the Lansdowne and Hanover estates, on the edge of the city centre.
Ben Duke, a resident, has complained there was no consultation with people living at the complex before the closure.
He said: “I asked could we not be given an alternative garage elsewhere and was told no there weren’t any.
“Myself and other tenants will have to inform their car insurance companies that their vehicles will instead be parked on the public highway with the increased risk that entails.”
Sheffield Homes said it has ‘noted’ Mr Duke’s complaint.
