A MEETING is being held tonight in a Sheffield suburb to discuss the operation of a community-run post office a year after it reopened.
Residents and business representatives from Darnall, Attercliffe and Acres Hill are invited to join the debate at 6.30pm, which is part of Darnall Forum’s annual general meeting and takes place at the forum offices, next to the post office, on Main Road.
The meeting will hear how the post office, now run by the forum, is progressing just over a year after it opened its doors to the first customers.
Other items on the agenda include a report from Sheffield Primary Care Trust on plans to open a new community health centre in Darnall, on waste ground almost opposite the post office.
Forum manager Neil Bishop said: “The post office is gradually growing its customer base and is holding its own, but we do need more people to come and make use of it.”
Post Office manager Gillian urged people to attend and said: “This is a chance for local people to come and discuss how the post office is run and tell us if there’s anything we can do to make it better.”
