Bad weather has brought good news for funfair fans – as Farrar’s Funfair is staying put in Hillsborough Park for an extra weekend.
The pouring rain caused the ground in the park to become muddy and churned up, meaning it was at risk of further damage if the fair were moved.
To thank Sheffielders who braved the elements and went to the fair last weekend, there will be some discount vouchers in tomorrow’s Star so you can enjoy a bargain visit.
Owner William Percival said: “We’re really grateful to everybody who turned up last weekend.
“To save any damage to the park, the council has agreed to let us stop in there until Sunday.
“Hopefully it’s drying up now. Sheffield people are very supportive - they battled against the weather last weekend and we are really grateful for that support. The discount vouchers are a way of saying thank you to them.”
The fair will be open from 5.30pm tomorrow evening and 1.30pm on Saturday.
