The funeral plans for a Sheffield-born racing driver who was tragically killed in an accident have been announced by his family.
Justin Wilson, aged 37, was killed after an accident in an IndyCar race last month.
The driver was struck on the helmet by flying debris from a crash in the closing stages at the Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania and died of his injuries just over 24 hours later.
Justin’s funeral will take place on September 10 at 11.45am at St James the Great Church, High Street, Paulersbury, Northamptonshire NN12 7Na.
Afterwards a reception will be held in Hall 5, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
Wilson competed in the 2003 Formula One season where he raced for Minardi and Jaguar before moving to America where his career spanned a decade.
The F1 community is paying tribute to Wilson at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix with each of the 20 drivers sporting a sticker in his memory on their crash helmets.
