THE funeral of a man who died in a blaze at his home is to be held next week.
Lester Ball, aged 53, of Treelands, Gawber, Barnsley, was found dead on Monday, May 28, after a fire which started in the kitchen ripped through the property.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze found an electrical fault with Mr Ball’s fridge was to blame.
Neighbours raised the alarm after spotting flames at 4am but despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr Ball, who was found clutching his mobile phone, could not be revived.
His funeral is at Ardsley Crematorium on Thursday, June 14 at 2.30pm.
