A ROCK music festival is being held close to a north Derbyshire beauty spot – in support of a campaign against plans for an industrial plant nearby.
Protest group Whitwell Against Alkane is organising the event as part of the fight to stop company Alkane building a large anaerobic digesting plant to process rubbish, just a few hundred yards from Creswell Crags.
The group hopes to raise cash for a possible legal fight against the scheme.
Rock Against Alkane takes place from 7pm at Whitwell Community Centre, Whitwell, on Saturday February 19.
Bands include Northern Monkey, Kenny & Ellis from Ferocious Dog, 27th Design, Smell My Finger, Monkeys Uncle and others to be confirmed. Entry is £2 and doors open at 7pm.
