THE beautiful game has netted a beautiful result for St Luke’s Hospice.
When Supertram employees George and Miriam Storey and Paul Gillott decided they wanted to support a charity they chose Sheffield’s only hospice.
And their choice of fundraising activity reflected the city’s love of football - a special five-a-side tournament at Pitz Super Soccer that raised a final total of £814.73.
“Sheffield loves football and we thought it would be a good way to involve family and friends in supporting a fundraising event for St Luke’s because everybody loves the hospice too!” said Miriam.
“We started holding the tournaments three years ago and they get more popular every year, with more teams signing up to take part.”
The hospice’s Corporate and Trusts Fundraising manager Margot Walker praised the effort and said: “As we continue our 40th birthday celebrations this year we are delighted organisations like Supertram and their staff are supporting us.”
