Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust is celebrating a £10,492 boost.
The money will go towards helping fund conservation work on the heathland at Foxholes in the Rivelin Valley.
Rob Miller, Living Landscape manager at Sheffield Wildlife Trust, said: “This funding will make a significant difference to the heathland at Foxholes and the wildlife which lives there.”
He added: “We’re delighted with the award and what we will be able to achieve with the money for the benefit of native wildlife which is under pressure.”
Marek Gordon, CEO and chairman of SITA Trust which donated the cash, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support this important project to protect and enhance heathland in Yorkshire.”
