Dozens of youngsters enjoyed fun in the sun at an activity-filled event in Parson Cross.

The family fun day was held on Saturday alongside a car boot sale at Chaucer School in Wordsworth Avenue as part of the build-up for the visit of the Tour de France to Sheffield.

The event included crazy golf, music and dancing, as well as the chance to try out riding a unicycle and a special stunt ‘wonky bike’.

It was arranged by various local agencies, including Sheffield Council, Soar regeneration agency and the Parson Cross Initiative.

Nick Waterfield, from the Parson Cross Initiative, said: “Lots of people turned up and it was a success. It was a good turnout.”

At the same time, the car boot sale managed to raise about £300 for the school towards funding its social enterprise project in South Africa.
