A FAMILY fun day held in memory of a Sheffield man crushed to death at work raised £6,038.76.
Friends and relatives of 26-year-old Dave Roberts, of Fox Hill, organised the event earlier this summer one year after his death.
He was crushed at Forgemasters on Brightside Lane when a steel cast became dislodged from an overhead crane and crashed to the ground.
Two of the football teams he used to play for took part in a memorial match at the event at the Jubilee Club on Claywheels Lane, Wadsley and there were circus skills workshops organised along with a Territorial Army climbing wall, face painting, five-a-side football, boxing displays and a charity auction.
Proceeds raised on the day have been donated to Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids appeal.
