A PARTY to celebrate Chinese New Year is taking place in Rotherham on Valentine’s Day.
The event is being organised by Rotherham’s Wah Hong Chinese Association and supported by One Town One Community and South Yorkshire Community Foundation.
Highlights will include traditional line dancing, cultural performances from Sheffield’s Chinese School, a Chinese-style buffet and a raffle.
Tickets for the event at Eastwood Methodist Church, on Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood, are £2.
The event is on Monday February 14 from 6pm to 9pm and will be attended by Rotherham Mayor Coun Rose McNeely.
Jo Mailer, from the Wah Hong Chinese Association, said: “This event is a great opportunity for local people of all cultures to enjoy the celebrations and festivities of the Chinese New Year.
“It also means local people can find out more about our culture and customs.”
