First the good news. Rotherham United earned the first away point of their Championship season.

Now the other good news. They've found themselves a goalkeeper.

New boy Lee Camp produced a man-of-the-match display as the Millers withstood the Addicks' second-half surge and actually looked the team most likely to score again late on.

Camp came up with a series of good saves and his handling and distribution were pretty much impeccable.

Rotherham, showing the spirit that seemed lacking against Fulham before the international break, went ahead in the 38th minute through an unlikely source.

Joe Newell swung over a corner from the right and there was teenage centre-half Farrend Rawson, making his first appearance of the season, stealing in at the back post to knock the ball home.

In the second half, Charlton upped the tempo and went after Steve Evans' side

Yet the visitors should have been 2-0 up. New boy Tony Andreu's close-range header was superbly kept out by Nick Pope in the 61st minute.

Four minutes later the Addicks were level as Patrick Bauer poked home substitute Simon Makienok's feed from the left.

Evans had dropped former skipper Greg Halford to the bench, bringing in Rawson.

There were also starts for all three transfer-deadline-day arrivals Camp, and midfielders Odjidja-Ofoe and Andreu.

Left-back Joe Mattock made a welcome return from injury, while striker Matt Derbyshire was named among the substitutes, paying the price for a string of missed chances before the international break.

Rawson teamed up well with Danny Collins, with both of them producing potentially goal-saving blocks.

The Millers weathered the second-half storm and another stunning save from Pope kept out a Chris Maguire piledriver as Evans' men went for a winner themselves.
