Fresh backing for experienced solicitor

A DONCASTER solicitor has received further recognition of his skills from a national organisation.

Don Bird, partner and head of Atherton Godfrey’s family law department, has had his accreditation as a specialist family lawyer renewed by Resolution, an organisation committed to good practice and a constructive approach to resolving family disputes.

Its members undergo a rigorous assessment process and are required to demonstrate a high level of knowledge, practical application of the law and best practice.

Don, who has legal experience spanning more than 30 years, has expertise in handling disputes between couples and presenting financial and property cases in court.

He said: “It’s a sad fact that in the UK more than a third of children will see their parents split before they reach their 16th birthday.

“In these cases, it is essential we find solutions that consider the needs of the whole family, and the best interests of the children.

“It is a sensitive time and those facing difficulties need to know their solicitor is experienced in resolving the kind of disputes that can arise from a relationship breakdown and that they will receive expert and reliable advice.”

Don was recently re-accredited by the Law Society and retained his ranking of family law practitioner with advanced status.
