A train driver is ‘shaken up’ after almost being hit by a brick that was thrown through the windscreen of a freight train, as it was travelling through Thorne South railway station.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Saturday, November 1, and transport police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Investigating officer PC Sandra Murray said of the incident: “The brick damaged the windscreens of the train.”
She added: “Thankfully it was not a passenger train, but the driver was very shaken up by the incident and was lucky not to have been injured.
“If anyone was in the vicinity of Thorne South Railway Station at the time and saw anything suspicious I would urge them to contact us. It is vital that we find who did this.”
