Help is at hand for Doncaster women and work-returning mums to learn or boost digital and cloud technology skills.
Free practical workshops will be delivered across South Yorkshire between now and Christmas, to specifically support women who want to turn a hobby or talent into a money-making business. Others may wish to learn new skills in a bid to return to work after having children or boost their digital know-how if already running a company.
The first of three Sheffield sessions will be held tomorrow, October 23 at 10am, followed by others on November 6 and December 10.
Small business network Enterprise Nation will run workshops on behalf of Enterprising Barnsley, funded by the Women and Broadband Fund from the Government Equalities Office. It is all part of a nationwide programme to help communities benefit from a faster internet service.
Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: “This is aimed at demystifying the digital world for women who have had a gap in their working lives through child care or taking a career break for other caring duties. It is also relevant for those looking for entrepreneurial support to start or grow a business. They are designed to help women master emerging technology as well as offer business coaching to varying levels.”
