A FUNDING grant will mean free swimming lessons to Sheffield’s disabled and disadvantaged children.
Charity Help a Child Have a Chance has been awarded £10,000 to deliver one-to-one coaching and pool parties for families at Hillsborough Leisure Centre.
The cash, which comes from the Awards for All fund, is designed to improve the lives of children and families in the city.
A total of 130 one-to-one lessons will be taught, while family pool parties will launch on Saturday, March 30, and take place every two months thereafter.
Rebecca Kilner, trustee of Help a Child Have a Chance, said: “We know there are many children in Sheffield who are isolated or excluded, and through the charity we are working to improve their health, confidence and self-esteem.”
