Another two years of free sports sessions will be available for youngsters in Mastin Moor after funding was awarded.
The Mastin Moor Action Group has secured funding from the People’s Health Trust to enable the multi-sports sessions to continue for a further two years.
The group applied for additional funding following the success of a year-long sports project funded by Sporting Futures and supported by Derbyshire Police.
PCSO Sue Cooke, from the Staveley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We have around 50 youngsters who attend the weekly sports sessions regularly, and since the launch of the project, we have received fewer calls for anti-social behaviour in the community.
Free sessions are held every Tuesday night.
