Free training is to be provided to unemployed people across South Yorkshire to give them a better chance of finding a job.
Employment and skills experts Working Links is delivering the Flexible Fund programme on behalf of the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund.
The programme gives people in South Yorkshire aged 19 or over, who are currently unemployed, access to free accredited training in a number of sectors including retail, warehousing, security, construction, health and social care.
Training, which lasts between one and 16 weeks depending on the subject, is taking place at centres in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster. Jamie Cottrell, performance manager at Working Links, said: “Figures show people are more likely to find work if they have sector specific skills – our courses provide people with those skills.”
