Dog owners are being offered advice on health care from a mobile pet-checking unit.
An experienced veterinary nurse will be on board the PDSA charity’s unit to give the animals check-ups which will cover their weight, eyes, teeth, ears, coat condition and general fitness.
In addition to the veterinary nurse, Bolsover Council’s dog warden will also be on hand to offer advice and promote healthcare issues associated with dogs and responsible pet ownership, including what action you can take to prevent excessive dog barking.
The council will also provide a free microchipping service at the events, while stocks last.
The Pet Check unit will be available at Shirebrook Market Place on Wednesday, June 13, and Saturday, June 16, and at the car park opposite the council’s contact centre in Clowne, on Thursday, June 14.
Coun Dennis Kelly, council cabinet member for environment, said: “We want as many people as possible to come along to the pet checks and get some free expert advice.”
