MORE than 30,000 Sheffield households have taken advantage of a scheme to provide free loft and cavity wall insulation.
The Government has revealed 31,055, or 13.2 per cent, of the entire number of houses in the city have benefited since 2008, with 15,588 cavity walls filled and 22,386 lofts lagged.
Some homes have had both.
Climate Change Minister Greg Barker has revealed further energy efficiency measures will be on offer later this year under the Government’s new Green Deal initiative.
The new plans are set to involve further improvements than just insulation, he said.
