FAMILIES heading into Sheffield city centre can enjoy free fairground rides.
The amusements are being set up on The Moor and will be open from Monday unntil Saturday, August 26.
The Moor Retailers Association isu funding the activities.
Its aim is to help provide a low-cost day out for parents and also to maintain interest in the shopping thoroughfare as it undergoes multi-million pound regeneration works.
Three rides - which would usually cost £1.50 each for a single ride - will be at the bottom of The Moor near Atkinsons.
They will be free to ride anytime from 11am until 4pm each day.
Aimed at youngsters aged three to seven, the rides include a train and mini-rollercoaster.
Sandra Barley, The Moor’s centre liaison manager who is helping organise the activities, said: “The summer holidays are an expensive time for parents, so we thought we do our bit to help.”
