Electric blankets are being tested in Derbyshire to reduce the risk of fires breaking out this winter.
Five fires have been caused by faulty electric blankets across the county in the last three years, fire service figures have revealed.
Now Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are urging residents who are disabled or aged over 60 to get their blankets tested.
A number of free sessions are being held at fire stations in Derbyshire to tests blankets this month.
