ALARMS have been handed out free of charge to allotment holders and residents in Creswell, Derbyshire, following a spate of break-ins.
Some of the 350 shed and window alarms, bought by Creswell Parish Council and Bolsover Community Safety Partnership, have been handed out by local police officers.
Others will be given out tomorrow at Creswell Social Centre in Elmton Road between 9.30am and noon and in a mobile police station outside the library in Elmton Road between 2pm and 7pm.
Coun Brian Murray-Carr, chairman of Bolsover Community Safety Partnership, said: “Shed burglaries tend to be prevalent during the summer and we hope the alarms will help people protect their property and reduce this type of offence in Creswell.”
