SCAMS are running at record levels in Derbyshire after complaints leapt 24 per cent in a year.
The county council received 690 reports of con attempts in the year to March - up from 556 from the previous year.
Bogus computer viruses and Ukash voucher scams both showed a big increase.
Ukash is method of cashless payment which can be made over the phone.
Victims are persuaded to use them to pay them for bogus services like a tax refund or loan.
