ADULTS and young people on a city housing estate joined forces with Sheffield Homes staff to spruce up the area.

The clean-up on the Fraser estate in Woodseats, was organised by the tenants’ and residents’ association.

As well as improving the area by removing litter and cutting undergrowth, volunteers also cleared shrub beds so flowers and bulbs could be planted.

Sheffield Homes staff helped out and supplied litter pickers and tools.

Kerry Maltby, south west area manager for Sheffield Homes, said: “Everyone values a clean and attractive environment and the volunteers, members of the TARA and our own staff did a great job to help their local community, as well as setting a fantastic example to others.

“We were also really impressed by the number of young people who came along to help out.”
