Four people were taken to hospital with burns after a gas cylinder exploded in a garden.
Firefighters were called to Elizabeth Street in Goldthorpe, Barnsley, just before 2pm yesterday.
It is thought a liquid propane gas cylinder had blown up in the back garden of a house.
Firefighters gave first aid to four people, who were later taken to hospital suffering from burns.
None of their injuries is thought to have been life-threatening.
A 50 metre cordon had been put in place around the property immediately after the incident but it was lifted later on in the afternoon.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
The incident was one of hundreds of events that were tweeted from the @Tweetmas_Barns Twitter account yesterday.
The aim of the exercise was to highlight to the public all the incidents South Yorkshire Police had to deal with in one 12-hour period, from noon to midnight, yesterday.
The Twitterthon was timed to coincide with ‘Mad Friday’ – the notorious last Friday before Christmas when many revellers are out and about celebrating the start of the festive season.
