Two men have been arrested after a tent containing two people was set on fire in Doncaster.

A 42-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were inside a tent near College Road, between Rowland Place, St James Street and Trafford Way, when the tent was set on fire, in the early hours of August 18.

As the pair tried to escape, they were reportedly assaulted. They were left with extensive burns.

Garry Beddoes, aged 28, and, Joel Harrison, 20, have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have also been arrested in connection with the arson. All four have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are searching for Jason Vicarage, 23, and Ricky Lee Andrewatha, 21, in connection with the incident.
