Long-standing customer and former cricketer Geoff York was hit for six when he was picked to officially re-open a new Tickhill pharmacy.
Mr York, 94, officially opened the doors at the new chemist, the latest of more than 250 LloydsPharmacy stores across the UK to undergo a transformation.
It will offer enhanced services for a range of conditions, including skin health and pain management.
A Tickhill Cricket Club fundraiser was also there, drumming up support for its Buy-a-Brick appeal to build new changing rooms and LloydsPharmacy donated £100 to the appeal.
Pharmacy manager Magda Piper said: “Geoffrey is an absolutely lovely man. It all ties in nicely.”
