A HOST of former Blades stars turned out to mark the 20th anniversary of a special double over rivals Wednesday.
Around 250 Unitedites were joined by members of the Blades team which took part in the two victories over the Owls during the 1991/92 season.
The first derby game, which United won 2-0 at Bramall Lane, had been the first meeting between the Sheffield clubs in the top flight for 20 years.
Former players Simon Tracey, Kevin Gage, John Pemberton, Dane Whitehouse, Carl Bradshaw, Brian Deane, Ian Bryson, Adie Littlejohn, Jamie Hoyland, Mitch Ward, John Reed, Paul Beesley, Brian Gayle, John Gannon, Glynn Hodges, Peter Duffield and Tommy Cowan all attended the anniversary event.
Fans were treated to a meal and edited highlights of the Bramall Lane victory, with a video put together by Norton College media students.
Paul Beesley gave a few tales from the dressing room, before United spokesman Andy Pack invited the team for a question and answer session.
