Football players reach their goal

STAFF from bars and clubs in Sheffield raised £250 by taking part in a charity football tournament.

The money was raised for Cash for Kids, which helps sick and underprivileged children in the UK.

A total of 14 five-a-side teams gathered at the Goals Soccer centre in Norfolk Park to battle it out to be crowned champions.

After three hours of football, Embrace beat Players bar in the final.

Goals manager Gaynor Wand said: “It’s a fantastic total and it was great to see so many teams taking part.”

Restaurants from Leopold Square will compete against each other next, kitted out in fancy dress in a special tournament on March 12 to raise money for Comic Relief.
