A Sheffield charity is offering free use of its football pitches this week in a bid to get more women involved in the game.
Sheffield City Trust will provide women with free pitch hire at Concord Sports Centre in support of its ‘This Girl Can’ campaign, aimed at getting more women and girls involved in sport.
SCT is also launching two new female football sessions in partnership with the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA.
Soccercise combines a variety of fitness exercises with football and starts at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on Thursday, October 29.
And ladies Only futsal coaching will kick off at Concord Sports Centre on Friday, October 30.
Dawn Hickman, a director at SCT said: “We are hoping that providing free facilities and the launch of these new, women’s only sessions will encourage more females to give football a go as part of our This Girl Can campaign.
“Girls’ Football Week follows England’s Lionesses success at the recent Women’s World Cup and we hope that can be a platform to inspire more girls to get involved.”
