Sheffield’s Park Hill flats are to be the next venue for a popular food market.
The listed site will host a special collaborative event by Peddler Night Market, which has attracted thousands of people to dine on street food from independent traders, enjoy craft beer and hear live music since it was launched last year.
On Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14, the market will go on tour from its usual spot on Arundel Street to Park Hill for the launch of Sheffield Design Week.
As well as its usual attractions, it will include a pop up showcase of designers and makers.
Ben Smith, one of the organisers of Peddler, said: “Park Hill is a monumental part of Sheffield’s heritage and future, we’re very excited to be taking Peddler up there.
“We’ll be doing what we do best - satisfying appetites with super tasty street food, but this time we’ll be doing it with a view!
“Visitors can relish extra treats too, with the launch of this years Sheffield Design Week, so get down with gumbo and gyoza and support independent traders.”
Park Hill Presents Peddler starts at 11am on both days.
Developers behind the regeneration of Park Hill said earlier this month that they wanted to ‘pick up the pace’ on the scheme after ‘stagnation’ caused by the recession.
More flats, priced from £100,000, are to released for sale this year.
