Folk singers in Sheffield to help refugees

Singers and musicians in Sheffield have joined together to form ‘Sheffield Folk for Refugees’ and plan a fundraising gig.

The concert will support the work of the British Red Cross with refugees in Sheffield, Europe and the Middle East.

It is to be held at St Mark’s Church in Broomhill, Sheffield, on Saturday, April 9.

Simon Ennals, a singer and guitarist on the Sheffield folk scene, said: “Everyone has been moved by the pictures of the refugee crisis in Europe and Syria. As musicians we thought a fundraising concert would be a way that we could make a difference.”

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought from the Blue Moon Café in Sheffield city centre or from www.wegottickets.com/event/350394
