PEWS are being removed from Sheffield Cathedral’s nave – so 300 people can gather to sing and dance.
A ceilidh event is being held on Saturday, May 14, with a performance by Hekety Ceilidh Band, as part of the Joint Morris Organisations’ Sheffield National Morris Spectacular.
It is the first event of its kind at the cathedral – and is billed as ‘a fantastic opportunity for those who love the folk scene to experience this type of event in a unique heritage venue’. The evening’s entertainment will also include folk singer Jim Causley.
Doors open at 6.30pm, with the ceilidh starting at 7pm. Tickets are £10 which include sandwiches, and there will be a licensed bar. Tickets are available from www.sheffieldcathedral.org, www.sheffieldcathedralevents.ticketsource.co.uk, or from the cathedral reception, open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
