BOXING trainer Brendan Ingle switched to supporting flower power when he joined residents planting thousands of bulbs around a Sheffield neighbourhood.
Ingle accompanied his daughter Bridget, Penny Rea, of the Friends of Wincobank Hill, and other volunteers from around Wincobank to start work on the project.
Bridget said: “I think we will be planting about 7,000 bulbs in total, to brighten up the area in spring.
“The bulbs have been donated by the council’s North East community assembly, Sheffield Homes and also purchased with a grant as part of the Wincobank in Bloom project.”
Brendan said: “Everyone has done a brilliant job.
“In a few months these areas will be transformed with beautiful flowers.”
