Flower beds

Have your say

I’ve always loved to see the colourful display of the bedding plants that brightened up the flower beds around the city but for the past couple of years the displays have been dire.

The bottom of Eyre Street looks like a piece of scrub land in Africa, further up Eyre Street on Furnival Street, Furnival Gate (surely this is still Furnival Street) we’ve had to gaze upon dull purple aliums? this colour always reminds me of death as used in the Catholic Church.

Where’s the geraniums, pansies, violas, African marigolds, alyssum, lobelia etc. that brighten everybody’s day. Even on a dull day they never fail to please?

I just hope someone in the Parks department reads this and brings back our colourful city.
