Flippant remark made my blood boil

Have your say

I’m writing to say how disappointed I was to read the new editor’s column on the subject of library closures.

Mr Mitchinson doesn’t seem to understand the real cause of this situation, namely coalition Government cuts, £50 million every year for the last three years.

The editor’s flippant remark: “We can’t afford, apparently”, made my blood boil. We can’t afford them because Cameron and Clegg are hitting northern cities to soften the blow of cuts in the south, as usual, because that’s where the Tory and Lib Dem votes are.

There isn’t much chance of The Star offering an unbiased view of events when the new editor has already jumped on the “let’s blame the council” bandwago, is there?
