BETTER door entry systems are to be installed to improve security at flats where a Sheffield dad was murdered.
Sheffield Homes said the work will be carried out at properties in Batemoor as part of multi-million pound regeneration work to ensure they meet the Decent Homes standard.
The announcement follows the death of father-of-two Gary Beech, who was found stabbed to death in his home on Batemoor Road, Batemoor, last Friday.
Les Benn, South West Area Manager for housing management company, Sheffield Homes, said: “The door entry systems for the flats on Batemoor are due to be upgraded to a new fob system as part of Decent Homes improvements which are scheduled for this financial year.
“Tenants agreed at a recent meeting of the Area Investment Working Group, which is overseeing improvements, that should there be sufficient funding at the end of the programme to upgrade the communal door entry systems.”
