Five public toilets in Barnsley will close from Tuesday as the council’s budget savings plan is put into action.
In most cases, the nearest alternative provision is inside the closest public library.
Coun Roy Miller, cabinet member for environment, said: “It’s unavoidable due to our financial circumstances.”
The closures will save the council £40,000 per year.
The toilets on High Street, Wombwell; Barnsley Road, Cudworth; Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe; Summer Lane, Barnsley; and Churchfields, Barnsley are all affected.
