Five injured and 11 vehicles damaged in police chase through Sheffield and Rotherham

Five people were injured last night as police chased a stolen vehicle.

Eleven vehicles - including three police cars - were damaged in the pursuit. Three police officers were among those injured.

At around 5.45pm on Monday 7 November, police were called following sightings of a reported stolen vehicle, a grey Toyota Hilux, in the Prince of Wales Road area of Sheffield.

A police pursuit followed and it eventually ended in the Water Street area of Rotherham.

Three dogs, who were in the rear of the Hilux, were unharmed and have been returned to their owner.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway and officers are keen to speak to anyone with information.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences in connection with the incident.

Kieron Green, of Lansdowne Close, Thurnscoe, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday 9 November) charged with dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen, driving with no insurance and no driving licence.

A second man was arrested in connection with the incident, but has since been released with no further action.
