FIVE people were arrested when police swooped on suspected drug dealers.

A 41-year-old woman and two men aged 30 and 26 were arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, after heroin and cannabis were seized by officers at a house on Bacons Lane, Chesterfield.

The woman was later charged and appeared in court.

Warrants were also carried out at two properties on Queen Street, Clay Cross, were cannabis was found.

Following the discovery, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of intending to supply Class B drugs and a 48-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drug production.

Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Chief Inspector Rick Gooch, from Derbyshire Police, said: “Officers carried out warrants based on information from the community. We hope this shows we take reports of drug activity seriously.”
