BOSSES at Doncaster Racecourse say their Royal wedding day meeting has sold out following unprecedented demand.

The Town Moor venue’s compliment of 20,000 free Grandstand enclosure tickets, as well as discounted County Enclosure and hospitality tickets, have all been snapped up meaning there will be no ‘on the gate’ sales for any enclosure next Friday April 29.

Mark Spincer, course managing director at Doncaster Racecourse, said it was the first time all enclosures had sold out in advance and urged those without tickets to avoid disappointment by staying at home on the day.

He described the demand for tickets to the Royal Race Day as staggering.

He said: “Days after being made available, more than 20,000 people had logged onto our website to place reservations for our allocation of free tickets, and thousands more have snapped up heavily discounted options for our other enclosures.

“If anyone has applied and they haven’t received tickets, then they have unfortunately been unsuccessful on this occasion.

“Safety is of utmost importance here at Doncaster Racecourse and, like most venues, we have a strict upper limit to the number of customers that can be accommodated within the safety limits in our enclosures. With over 25,000 ticket applications, the numbers requested unfortunately exceed this limit.”

Tickets are available for Saturday racing on April 30.
