This is the beautiful setting where newlyweds-to-be Alec Smith and Diane Eyre will celebrate their big day with friends and family later this year.
The couple notched up the most votes and won a dream £15,000 wedding with The Star’s Win a Wedding competition.
Now they’ve been for a look around Whirlowbrook Hall, where their wedding reception is to be held, and met with the dream team who are set to make their big day one they will never forget.
Diane, 36, a sales assistant, said: “It’s absolutely amazing here - it’s gorgeous. I’ve never been before but it’s lovely. It’s just perfect for us.”
On October 3, Alec and Diane, of Lindholme Drive, Rossington, will tie the knot in Sheffield’s stunning Botanical Gardens.
After a photo shoot worth £1,249 with city photographer Lloyd Siddall, they will be driven to Whirlowbrook Hall for a three-course wedding breakfast and afternoon tea for 40 guests. The venue will also host an evening buffet for 80 complete with DJ.
Wedding planner Joy Hersey-Todd said: “Alec and Diane are just so pleased to have won. It’s an amazing package because sometimes when people win weddings they just get the ceremony and a bit of food - but this really is the whole package.”
The prize also includes a bespoke wedding gown to the value of £900 by up-and-coming designer Kelly Marie Redhead - a finalist in the Best Student Designer of the Year category in the Bridal Buyer Awards.
Alec, 47, a project manager, said: “We’ve been to some wedding fairs and it’s sunk in a lot more since then.
“We were in the middle of moving house when we entered the competition but now we’re settled in it’s all about the wedding.”
