A new music festival organised by volunteers from The University of Sheffield Students’ Union raised £806 for runaway children’s charity Safe@Last.

All profits raised from ticket sales to the Contours Festival, a donation from sales of a Contours Festival Ale, and money raised from a charity raffle run by Sheffield Raising and Giving contributed to the total.

Mike McQuillan, Assistant Events Manager at Sheffield University Students’ Union, said: “This is Contours Festival’s first year and we are delighted with its success.

“Every aspect of the festival has been put together by volunteers.”

Lauren Simpson, students’ union community fundraiser, said: “It’s brilliant when students come to us with ideas and it’s great to be able to support them.”
