First aiders quit St John Brigade

A TOWN’S team of first aid volunteers has quit St John Ambulance after a long-running dispute and transferred to the East Midlands Ambulance Service.

It is the latest move in the dispute between St John volunteers at Dronfield and the St John headquarters after the ambulance bought by public subscription in Dronfield for the town was removed and is now being used elsewhere in the East Midlands.

The 14-strong team has transferred to EMAS and after retraining is now operating in the area under the name of Dronfield First Responders.
